July 30,1947, two sergeants were found hanged in a wood near Netanya.
Colonel Archer Cassett, one of the senior British Mandatory officials, said in 1949 that
"the hanging of the sergeants did more than anything else to get us out of Palestine"
The grove contains eucalyptus, oaks and pine trees, planted by the National Jewish Fund.
