Hof HaSharon or the Sharon Beach National Park גן לאומי חוף השרון
(near Shefayim)

The Sharon coast — a region of narrow beaches (up to about 30 m) backed by cliffs up to 50 meters high.
Dominant west winds transport sand from the beaches over the coastal kurkar ridges and up to a kilometer inland. Winds play the dominant role in controlling patterns of erosion (deflation) and deposition (dune forming).
A garrigue / batha community of the coastal zone, that is characteristic to the area. Artemesia monosperma, Cyprus mucronatus, Poterium spinosum, Thymelaea hirsuta, Sparobolus and Lotus.
A forest of Mt. Tabor Oak (Quercus ithaburensis) once existed in the area. The destruction of the forests of the Sharon began in the Crusader period, when the wood was harvested for construction and fuel, and continued through the Ottoman period.
